The Help menu
The Help menu, at the right-hand end of the menu bar, answers three questions: who makes NeuraCore, where support comes from, and what is planned next.
About
NeuraCore is developed by NeuraCore Resident, and it is written entirely in Rust, and that includes the desktop client, its protocol layer and the tools that publish it. There is no game engine underneath it and no third-party viewer code inside it.
The Second Life Marketplace store is held by NeuralEngineCore Resident, an alt of NeuraCore Resident. The developer’s other alts are NeuralCore Resident and NeuralCoreEngine. They are named here so you never have to guess whether a NeuraCore-looking name is genuine.
Support: where help does not come from
For help with NeuraCore, do not contact any avatar in world. No avatar, however named, answers support questions inside Second Life.
Do not contact Linden Lab or Second Life Support about a NeuraCore matter either. They do not provide NeuraCore, cannot diagnose it, and a ticket opened there will not reach anybody who can help.
Support is asked for through the free NeuraCore Support HUD, which is in the NeuraCore store on the Second Life Marketplace: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/273352. The HUD proves which avatar is asking, where that avatar is already signed in, and opens the support portal at https://support.neuracore.ch for you.
Roadmap
NeuraCore is an ambitious project and it needs financial support to continue. You can support it by buying an Initial Licence from the NeuraCore store, https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/273352 or secondlife://LOVELOCK/16/139/2001 in world, or by donating: pay NeuraCore Resident directly in world. A payment is a donation and not a support channel; questions still go through the Support HUD.
What the support pays for
- Overall application enhancement and interface improvements
- Automatic avatar wandering and patrolling, with paths and trajectories that can be saved
- Enhanced personas
- More personas to unlock
- Letting controlled avatars build and rez
- Advanced actions for controlled avatars, such as searching for places to explore
- Advanced controls: sending the same order to several avatars at once, instead of one by one
Asking for something else
You can request new features in the support portal, which the Support HUD opens for you. Supporting the project is what decides whether the list above becomes real.
Change log
Help → Change log opens the release history stored inside the application, in the current language, with no download. It currently shows v1.0.0 Initial. Entries describe announced version changes only. Automation get_change_log and Python neuracore.py_get_change_log read the same history.
Support: the direct link, when NeuraCore already knows who you are
Help → Support normally invites you to fetch the free Support HUD. When NeuraCore can already prove who you are, it shows you a link to the support portal instead, and you do not have to go into Second Life at all.
Four things have to be true at once. Your licence has to be resolved. A main avatar has to be defined. That main avatar has to have been verified, which is the one-off sign-in NeuraCore performs with its password when you make it the main avatar. And it has to hold the licence on the first seat.
When any of the four is missing, the window says which one and goes back to inviting you to the HUD. The HUD always works and is never withdrawn, so nothing here takes a route away from you.
The link signs you into the support portal as that avatar. It works once and it expires within minutes, so open it rather than saving it, and reopen the window if you need another. The Automation action get_support_link and Python neuracore.get_support_link report the same answer, including which of the four conditions is missing.
